FOOD PRESERVATION - REFRIGERATION AND FREEZING

 

Passive methods do not require any kind of energy or technical equipment to decrease the temperature inside the cooled volume and can be mainly divided into the following categories: evaporative refrigerators; root cellars; ice box.

Disadvantages

  • Costs of the materials;
  • Some devices require more water while operating.
